Project summary:
I created an ad campaign focused on overconsumption, specifically warning against overspending on credit cards. After building a mood board of overconsumption imagery, I chose Adbusters for inspiration due to their bold, minimalist style. I designed a series of posters featuring stark imagery of people being “killed” by credit cards, with the minimal text “Credit Kills” to deliver a provocative and impactful message about the dangers of excessive spending.
Below are iterations after narrowing down my ideation.

This led me to the final two iterations you see below as the images chosen for the campaign. I decided not to use the face-up body, as the arm obstructed the text. I kept the Adbusters logo as the dot for the “I” and positioned the Adbusters name to the right. To fill the empty space, I added barcodes, which aligned with the existing visual style and enhanced the overall composition.
